There are lots of issues discussed in Council which interest local residents via the police tasking meeting.

  • Police tasking meeting for Bournville residents to be held every other month.
  • The police said many sheds had been broken into mainly in Beaumont Road and Franklin Road – 15 in three weeks – taking mainly bicyc les – residents were warned to keep sheds locked, number their items for easy identification.
  • Parking was still a problem on Woodlands Park Road for the residents in Blackthorn Close. Both sides of the road are obstructed as you come out on to the main road.
  • White lines are waiting to be done at Heath Road near the shops where they have worn off. Also Kingfisher Way. Dips in the tarmac – being done.
  • Signs – Bournville Lane keep left signs have been turned and cannot been seen as they are covered with green mould.
  • The clinic on Northfield Road has clients parking in front of houses and they are marooned inside. The police asked the neighbours to let them have the registration numbersk, athough it was pointed out that it was not the same people each time.
  • Parking in the alleyway between Spar and Heron in Cotteridge which is an obstruction for buses. They main culprits seems to be delivery vans.
  • Frampton Close – still waiting for action.
  • Lake View drive into Oak Farm Road – reversing vehicles are dangerous.
  • Nigel Dawkins was asked by Birmingham could not recycle more plastics but can be collected elsewhere. – He would look into this.
  • Increase in the population of foxes in the neighbourhood. They are a protected species and we cannot do anything about them but they are becoming a nuisance especially on bin bag day.

The next meeting will be on Wednesay, 21st September at Rowheath – 7pm.
