Could you be a Maypole Dancer?
The Bournville Village Festival on the 24th June, requires a great many children to be maypole dancers. Could you be one of them?
The Bournville Village Council organise the annual Bournville Village Festival in June which includes a traditional dance around the Bournville Village Maypole. It is, perhaps, the country’s largest Maypole and follows a tradition going back over 100 years.
The Maypole Dance requires a great many children to participate. The preparations, rehearsals and the final performance can be tremendous fun both for the children and for the parents.
If your child would like to join us and be a Maypole Dancer, please turn up for registration on Monday 6th March at 6.30 p.m. at Dame Elizabeth Hall.on Firbank Close just off Oak Tree Lane, Bournville. Registration forms will be available on the night.
You and your family will be most welcome.>
Children must be four years or older and live within the Birmingham area.
Practice Dates begin on Wednesday 8th March, and are as follows though March, April, May and June;
