The 2018 Bournville Village Festival

This year’s Bournville Village Festival will take place on Saturday 30th June 2018 at the Cadbury Recreation Ground, Linden Road, Bournville.
The Festival has many attractions including the Craft Market (selling jewellery, paintings, crafts and cakes), Arena Events (Marching Bands and Dance Troupes), side stalls, a Flower and Craft Show, a traditional maypole dance with a Grand Firework display.

Carols on the Green bucket collection raises £3,583.69 for charity

Christmas Eve, once again, saw a huge crowd, gathering on the Bournville Green to welcome the imminent arrival of Christmas.

Carols on the Green is, of course, a magical Bournville tradition stretching back over 60 years.

Organised by the local group of Christian churches, the service is always wonderfully led by Canon Peter Babington, the vicar of the Bournville Parish Church.

Redeveloped BVT offices to be called Elizabeth Court

The redeveloped BVT offices located on Oak Tree Lane, are to be called Elizabeth Court in honour of George Cadbury's widow, Dame Elizabeth Cadbury.

The development is currently under construction, and will provide 21 apartments for the over 60s,

Although a much larger building than the one it replaces, the new development still retains the original frontage of the building and the new large structure at the rear of the frontage has been designed in a fairly complementary style.

Bournville's New Years Day Walk, 2017

Bournville's first New Year's Day Walk got off to a cracking start!

A hardy bunch of Bournville folk met up on the Bournville Green at midday on News Years Day to walk around the estate, The walk, taking in both sides of the Bristol Road, lasted about 90 minutes.

We had a great time, interesting chats, good company and pretty decent weather as well. What more could you ask for?

St Francis Church Nativity

The St Francis Church nativity scene brings the vision of Christmas alive in Bournville.

It is one of the most poignant and beautiful Christmas displays in Birmingham.

Congregation members and their children of St Francis Church have created the most splendid outside nativity scene. Nestled within the cloisters of the church, it is the perfect location for such a display.

Thousands of people who flocked to the 'Carols on the Green' service on Christmas Eve marvelled as this wonderful display helped bring the spirit of Christmas alive.

The wonderful scene will remain on display until Twelfth Night.

The Carillon Shop is ready for Christmas Shoppers

The Rest House on the Bournville Green, home to the Carillon Gift Shop, has been beautifully decorated and is ready for Christmas shoppers.

It is one of the most delightful shops to visit in Bournville at any time of the year but at Christmas it is simply a unique experience that must not be missed. There are a huge range of Christmas gifts available inside and all profits go towards maintaining the historic Bournville Carillon.

Monday to Saturday 10 am- 4-30 pm.

Every Friday in December open until 5-30 pm.

Closed during January.

Christmas comes to Bournville

On Tuesday 1st December, The Bournville Festival Queen turned on the Bournville Christmas Tree Lights.

The switch on event was a wonderful evening. A crowd of over 1000 people gathered on the Green to marvel as the lights were turned at at precisely 7 pm by the Bournville Festival Queen.

The magic didn't end there. Father Christmas had taken time out from his busy schedule to visit the Bournville Green and over 400 children queued patiently to meet him and be given a small gift.
